Rainmaking Malaysia: How to qualify for MDEC-DTAP

The Digital Transformation Accelerator Program (DTAP) was launched to support Malaysian corporates on 9 April 2018. Rainmaking Innovation has been appointed by MDEC to manage corporate participation in DTAP

The objective of DTAP is to support the economic development goals of Malaysia by supporting large and mid-tier corporations to accelerate their adoption of innovative business models and cutting edge technology

DTAP focuses on 3 main areas, and will provide matched funding for corporate-startup pilots that target one of the following objectives:

  • increased productivity,
  • reduction in dependency on foreign labour
  • creation of new business models for participating corporates

DTAP is divided into 2 phases: (1) Pilot Stage and (2) Scale Stage.

At Pilot Stage, corporates can access RM 500,000 matched funding for a portfolio of x3 pilots with startups. Pilots that move forward to commercial implementation are eligible for up to RM 10,000,000 in funding at the Scale Stage.
